Senior Post Producer

Huffman Creative Services, Los Angeles, CA, United States

Salary min: $100,000.00

Salary max: $140,000.00

Company Description

Huffman Creative is an award-winning production studio specializing in scalable cinematic content for brands, artists, and creative teams. Known for speed, precision, and a collaborative production model, we partner closely with clients from early development through final delivery.
Our work spans commercial campaigns, documentary projects, and original content, often operating across multiple timelines, teams, and distribution platforms.
Why This Role Matters

As our slate continues to grow, we are looking for a Senior Post Producer to take ownership of post-production across our short-form projects.
This role is designed to operate as the post counterpart to our production leadership, owning the day-to-day execution of post so that Executive Producers can remain focused on creative direction, client relationships, and high-level strategy.
You will be responsible for driving timelines, managing vendors, solving problems as they arise, and ensuring a high standard of execution from editorial through delivery. This role is expected to operate independently, maintaining momentum across projects and making informed decisions that keep post moving forward at all times.
What You Will Do

Post Production Leadership

Own post-production workflows across multiple projects, from edit through final delivery and archive, serving as the primary decision-maker for day-to-day post operations.
Build and manage detailed post schedules, aligning internal teams, vendors, and clients around clear timelines and expectations.
Lead communication across editors, colorists, sound designers, VFX artists, and finishing teams, maintaining momentum without requiring constant EP oversight.
Proactively identify risks and implement solutions early to keep projects on track, escalating only when necessary.
Ensure all deliverables meet technical specifications for digital, broadcast, and platform-specific releases.
Post Operations & Delivery

Oversee media management from production handoff through final archive, including drive intake, backups, and organization.
Maintain project file structures, naming conventions, and version control across all platforms.
Build and oversee delivery workflows, including exports, QC, versioning, captioning, and platform-specific formatting.
Create and manage delivery matrices across all outputs and distribution channels.
Manage final delivery to clients, platforms, and distribution partners, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Oversee final archiving and client asset handoff, ensuring long-term accessibility and organization.
Vendor & Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with freelance editors, post houses, finishing vendors, and specialists.
Source and assemble post teams based on the needs of each project, balancing creative fit, efficiency, and budget considerations.
Act as the primary point of contact for post vendors, managing expectations, timelines, and feedback loops.
Negotiate vendor bids, track costs, and flag overages or scope changes early.
Client & Internal Communication

Own post-related communication with clients and collaborators, ensuring clarity around timelines, deliverables, and revisions.
Lead conversations around post scope, timelines, and tradeoffs when needed.
Maintain continuity of creative intent and client expectations from production through final delivery.
Bridge communication between production and post, ensuring all assets, notes, and expectations are properly carried through.
Creative Oversight & Execution

Review editorial progress and provide feedback before client delivery to ensure alignment with creative intent and quality standards.
Support editors and post teams in shaping structure, pacing, and storytelling where needed.
Maintain a high quality bar across all deliverables, including cutdowns and versioned assets.

Post Budgeting & Workflow Systems

Build and manage post-production budgets, tracking actuals, negotiating vendor costs, and flagging overages early.
Develop and refine scalable post workflows, templates, and systems.
Optimize internal tools and processes to improve efficiency and clarity across projects.
Forecast post-production needs across projects and scale resources accordingly.
Development & Long-Form Support

Collaborate with EPs on documentary and long-form post strategies, including editorial timelines and delivery planning.
Support development efforts with post considerations such as archival workflows, versioning, and long-term asset management.
You Will Thrive Here If You

Enjoy owning projects and being accountable for outcomes.
Are naturally proactive and take initiative to keep projects moving without waiting for direction.
Communicate clearly and confidently across clients, vendors, and internal teams.
Have strong instincts around prioritization and can balance speed with quality.
Value collaboration while operating with a high level of independence.
Approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset and remain calm under pressure.
Must Haves

4 to 7 years of post-production producing experience, with a strong background in commercial, branded, or agency environments. (Experience in documentary or long-form projects is a plus.)
Proven ability to run post-production end-to-end with minimal oversight.
Experience working directly with freelance editors, post vendors, and finishing teams.
Confidence leading client and vendor conversations independently.
Strong understanding of post-production pipelines, including editorial, color, sound, VFX, and delivery.
Work Structure

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Los Angeles.
The role operates within a deadline-driven environment and requires someone comfortable managing shifting priorities across active projects.
Compensation
