Co-Director - Digital Research (Part-time, Open to CAS Faculty Only)
We seek applications and nominations for the CAS Co-Director of the Center for Digital Research in the Humanities (CDRH). The successful candidate will report to the CAS Dean at UNL. The expected 1.0 FTE appointment will be split as 0.25 FTE administration with 0.75 FTE faculty.
Responsibilities
Administrative & Financial Leadership
Oversee Center operations, consult on budgets, prepare required reports, and assume additional responsibilities consistent with the Center’s mission.
Strategic Planning & Program Coordination
Lead strategic planning efforts and provide overall coordination for Center programs, personnel, and space.
Personnel Management & Evaluation
Provide input on staff performance and faculty merit, reappointment, tenure, and promotion as requested or as required by appointment letters.
Research, Teaching & Faculty Engagement
Encourage and support CDRH Fellows’ research and teaching aligned with the Center’s mission, including consultation on funding opportunities.
Advancement, Communication & Outreach
Assist in fundraising efforts with University leadership; communicate Center activities and developments transparently to the CDRH community and relevant Deans.
Governance & Representation
Convene and chair Center meetings; represent the Center at College of Arts and Sciences Chairs and Directors meetings; report regularly to the Dean of UNL Libraries and the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Must be a current tenured faculty member in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a current CDRH Fellow.
Demonstrable leadership ability, excellent interpersonal skills, and a vision for enhancing a center with a significant national and international reputation.
Broad-ranging knowledge of the humanities and digital research in the humanities.
Preferred Qualifications
Department, College, or relevant Center leadership experience.
