Create design that drives real impact. Utah Valley University is hiring a Graphic Designer II to lead high-level creative work that engages donors and alumni and supports Institutional Advancement priorities. This role offers the opportunity to take projects from concept to completion, collaborate across teams, and produce design that directly contributes to fundraising and engagement outcomes.

Summary of Responsibilities

Design digital, print, and other collateral materials for a variety of needs in a variety of formats. Creates and manipulates graphics to accomplish marketing and strategic communications goals.

Consult with senior director of marketing and strategic communications and other division members on planning of print and digital communications. Work with a variety of individuals throughout the design process to ensure the final product is of the highest quality and aligns with divisional goals and the purpose of each individual piece.

Manage negotiations with on-campus and off-campus vendors to produce high-quality products. Develop relationships with vendors and consult with photographers to procure appropriate artwork.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree and one to two years of experience in the Summary of Duties; OR any combination of education and experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling five years.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge

Digital design expertise to support strategic marketing initiatives.

Experience developing, designing, and implementing marketing, promotion, and communications collateral.

Knowledge of Web 2.0 tools, coding, and resources, and experience in all phases of publication and production.

Experience with project management within a professional design/production setting.

Knowledge of designing for social media and other digital platforms.

Knowledge of digital media production, management, and measurement.

Skills

Proficient in graphic design and expert knowledge of Adobe CS (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and other graphic software.

Exceptional writing and editing skills.

Experience with website development, coding, and content development.

Proficient in HTML, XML, and other web-related software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite and other office productivity software.

Experience working within Content Management Systems (CMS).

Strong knowledge of social media software, culture, and marketing tactics.

Strong verbal communication skills.

Abilities

Work creatively within an approved institutional graphic identity.

Excel in a fast‑paced, collaborative work environment.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Provide effective client service and support.
