Love Communications is seeking an experienced Paid Search Supervisor with a passion for marketing and a knack for turning search platforms into engines of measurable client growth. The Paid Search Supervisor will be expected to build, manage, and optimize search campaigns across a diverse portfolio of clients, supervise and mentor a small team of paid search specialists, present strategy and results to clients and internal stakeholders, and partner closely with our media, analytics, and account teams to keep paid search tightly woven into broader marketing programs. As such, this individual must possess a hybrid blend of hands-on platform expertise (Google Ads and the broader Google Marketing Platform stack) and people leadership skills, including the ability to coach buyers, QA campaign work, and elevate the bar for what “good” looks like across the team. The right applicant will love living in the platforms as much as they love presenting in front of a room and will thrive in a team-first environment that prioritizes respect, curiosity, and collaboration amongst peers. Four or more years of hands-on paid search experience is required, with prior experience supervising, mentoring, or formally managing other buyers strongly preferred. Comfort with adjacent tools (Search Ads 360, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, et cetera) will be preferred. This is a hybrid position with the Paid Search Supervisor expecting to be in-person at Love Communications’ Salt Lake City based office three days a week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Paid Search Supervisor will be directly responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, leading a small team of paid search specialists, and helping evolve our paid search practice for the next era of search. This includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:
Campaign Strategy & Execution: The Paid Search Supervisor, in conjunction with media, account, and analytics teammates, is responsible for building, launching, optimizing, and reporting on paid search campaigns across a diverse client roster. This includes everything from keyword research and account architecture to bid strategy, ad copy, audience targeting, and budget pacing. The right person stays as comfortable working in the platforms as they are in a strategy document.
Team Leadership: The Paid Search Supervisor will directly manage a small team of paid search specialists. This includes coaching on platform best practices, QAing campaign builds and optimizations, providing constructive feedback, and helping each specialist grow into a stronger, more independent buyer. Strong people skills, patience, and a genuine investment in the success of others are non-negotiable.
Client Partnerships: The Paid Search Supervisor is expected to be a primary point of contact for clients on paid search matters, from kickoff strategy to mid-flight optimizations and performance debriefs. As such, they must be comfortable presenting work in a professional and informative manner that translates technical decisions into business outcomes, and must be able to defend recommendations with data while remaining open to client input.
AI Fluency & Forward-Thinking Search: The Paid Search Supervisor is expected to be a student of where search is going. This means staying current on the rapidly evolving AI search landscape (AI Overviews, generative search experiences, and the changing ways users discover and evaluate brands) and actively leveraging AI tools to expedite paid search workflows and drive better performance. We are looking for someone who experiments, who brings new ideas to the table, and who helps push the entire team beyond “the way we’ve always done it.”
Collaboration: From time to time, the Paid Search Supervisor will be pulled into broader media, analytics, creative, or new business work that requires a paid search lens. This necessitates strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to translate paid search realities into language that non-search teammates can act on.
Above all, the Paid Search Supervisor is expected to be a lifelong learner and a team player and is excited by the chance to lead a small team, sharpen our paid search craft, and help shape what modern search looks like at Love Communications.
CHARACTERISTICS, SKILLS, & KNOWLEDGE
Proficiency with the following, and the desire to learn more and enhance one’s expertise with them, is required:
Four or more years of hands-on paid search experience, with a track record of managing meaningful media spend across multiple client accounts.
Demonstrated fluency in Google Ads and Microsoft Ads — including campaign architecture, keyword research, bid strategy, ad copy development, and performance optimization.
Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent Professional Experience in marketing, advertising, business, communications, analytics, or another relevant field.
Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, et cetera) and Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, et cetera), with a particular comfort working with data in Excel and Sheets.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical work to non-technical audiences.
Exposure to the following is not necessary, but an added benefit to the application:
Two or more years of experience supervising, mentoring, or formally managing other paid search practitioners.
Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, et cetera) to accelerate keyword research, ad copy iteration, performance analysis, or reporting workflows.
Working knowledge of the evolving AI search landscape, including AI Overviews, generative search experiences, and the implications for paid search strategy.
Experience with Search Ads 360 and/or the broader Google Marketing Platform stack.
Experience with Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and downstream measurement tooling.
Agency experience working across a diverse portfolio of client industries and budget sizes.
Active Google Ads and/or Microsoft Ads certifications.
