POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Entry-Level Video Production Assistant is a great opportunity for recent graduates or individuals starting their career in video production. This role provides hands-on experience in studio and on-location video production, equipment management, and post-production tasks. The position is designed for someone eager to learn, develop new skills, and grow within a collaborative and creative environment.
This role is perfect for someone looking to build foundational skills in video production while gaining valuable on-the-job experience. Training and mentorship will be provided to help you succeed and grow in this exciting field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Production Assistance (70%)
Studio and Equipment Management:
Learn to organize and maintain studio equipment and ensure the studio is ready for recordings.
Assist the video team during studio recordings by helping with audio, cameras, lighting, and other equipment under supervision.
Non-Studio Recordings:
Gain experience in preparing, packing, and maintaining equipment for on-location shoots.
Help transport and set up equipment for recordings.
Support the team with logistical tasks, such as arranging catering.
Event Videography and Photography:
Learn to capture and edit video and photography content for events.
Collaborate with social media, events, and marketing teams to deliver content.
Be open to working flexible hours, including evenings, when needed.
2. Producer Assistance (20%)
Assist with preparing call sheets and crew lists for video recordings.
Learn how to handle video transcription and ensure timely delivery to business partners.
Research technology and equipment trends to contribute ideas for upgrades.
Help track purchases and expenses while learning budget management basics.
Support the team in purchasing and managing digital media.
3. Post-Production Assistance (10%)
Work with event coordinators to finalize, post, and schedule video file delivery.
Learn to organize and prepare files for editing.
Assist with basic video editing tasks, such as trimming clips and adding graphics using templates.
Upload video content to platforms like Vimeo and Internal Intranet sites.
Support small editing projects under the guidance of experienced team members.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
A strong interest in video production and a willingness to learn.
Basic understanding of video production equipment (training will be provided).
Familiarity with video editing software (Adobe Premiere) is a plus but not required.
Familiarity with studio equipment (Blackmagic design switcher and studio cameras) and Sony cameras (A7 and FX6) is a plus but not required.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, as needed.
A positive attitude and eagerness to contribute to a team environment.
