We're partnering with a leading media and entertainment company to find a talented Assistant Editor to support their creative production team. This hybrid role in San Francisco offers an exciting opportunity for experienced media professionals to contribute to high-profile projects in a fast‑paced environment. 7-12 month contract with benefits available.
Assistant Editor Responsibilities
Manage the ingestion, transcoding, and organization of media assets, ensuring consistent naming and filing protocols within Avid MediaCentral.
Synchronize audio and video files to maintain accurate project alignment.
Support maintaining structured project and sequence setups within editing software.
Collect, log, and digitize assets for editorial use, including rough cuts and B‑roll selections.
Export finished projects in any requested formats and prepare timelines for finishing and upscaling.
Assistant Editor Qualifications
Over 5 years of experience in video editing and production.
Strong proficiency in Avid Media Composer, including managing media and project setup.
Solid understanding of post‑production workflows, encoding, and file management.
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Knowledge of Resolve, color correction, and graphics is a plus; familiarity with Star Wars content is preferred.
