They will help us connect with new audiences while engaging our current followers through compelling social media initiatives that align with accessible guidelines. The social media manager will develop and implement informed content strategies tailored to the strengths of various social media platforms to increase awareness and knowledge of Nebraska’s recreational opportunities, as well as increase brand affinity. They also will help us expand our digital footprint as social media platforms evolve or change. The social media manager will work alongside the marketing, creative and web staff and additional agency staff to plan and review content and creative assets to ensure consistent and accurate messaging.JOB DUTIES:Develop, schedule and release content on our social channels that is engaging, relevant, and in line with the brand image; posts should be accurate, timely, creative and professional, build customer relationships and increase brand awarenessMonitor social media across platforms across agency accountsUse social listening tools to inform content strategyCollaborate with team for creative asset developmentDevelop social media campaigns in collaboration with the communications/marketing teamEnsure all social media content is guided and managed in alignment with WCAG 2.1 accessible guidelinesProduce regular social media reports showing performance and content analysis, campaign and audience insights, and platform performance; use analysis to adjust strategySupervise a small social media team, prioritizing and coordinating tasks and projects, fostering teamwork, communicating regularly and clearly, and assessing training needsStay up-to-date with new and emerging trends to help keep Nebraska Game and Parks’ social media presence consistently relevantMaintain broad awareness of conservation and recreation related information and trends on social mediaRequirements/ QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, graphic arts, digital media, videography, or related field and at least one year of experience in coordinating, planning, and managing public relations/publicity campaigns, mass media communication activities and/or public information programs. Required experience may substitute for the education on a year for year basis.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES :Knowledge of: best practices of and trends in social media; a strong understanding of social media platforms; knowledge of accessibility guidelines WCAG 2.1 Level AA; Adobe Suite related to graphic design, photo and video editing); public information dissemination and its value; journalism or public relations principles and practices.Ability to: write with attention paid to spelling, punctuation, word usage and grammar; communicate effectively with colleagues and the public, at levels understandable to each audience; evaluate the public information potential of written, illustrative and related material; develop the information dissemination approach most likely to reach a target audience; assign and review the work of others; organize tasks.ABOUT NEBRASKA GAME AND PARKS:At Nebraska Game and Parks, our vision is to provide access to healthy land, waters and wildlife that inspire people for generations to come.
