EquityZen is a leading marketplace for pre‑IPO investments, connecting shareholders of private companies with accredited investors. The role focuses on scaling and enhancing the EquityZen platform through strategic product leadership.

Department Overview

Wealth Management Platforms manages industry‑leading platforms across all WM channels and client segments to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for advisors, clients, and institutions. The team includes sub‑teams such as Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow, Digital Trading & Investing, Generative AI, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution, WM Platforms Risk, and the Chief Operating Office.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of highly complex, cross‑functional, and time‑sensitive strategic initiatives that drive significant business impact and scale the EquityZen platform.
  • Partner directly with leadership to define, shape, and execute the overarching company product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Champion a user‑centric culture across the organization, leading and empowering design and engineering teams to architect scalable, accessible products for a diverse and complex user base.
  • Oversee the end‑to‑end product lifecycle for a major product portfolio, guiding AVPs and Associates in writing specs, managing execution, conducting rigorous A/B testing, and defining sophisticated go‑to‑market roll‑out strategies.
  • Synthesize vast amounts of quantitative data, qualitative insights, and macro‑economic business trends to identify strategic market opportunities, pivot existing strategies, and drive high‑impact product innovation.
  • Drive lean and agile methodologies across product pods, collaborating deeply with Engineering leadership to optimize delivery pipelines, manage resource allocation, and ensure timely, high‑quality releases.
  • Act as a key strategic liaison with Sales, Operations, Compliance, and Legal leadership, seamlessly integrating their feedback and stringent regulatory requirements into a cohesive product strategy while managing executive stakeholder expectations.
  • Mentor, manage, and develop a high‑performing team of product managers (Associates and AVPs), fostering a culture of continuous learning, teaching, and entrepreneurial drive.

Skills Required

  • 7–10+ years of progressive product management experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or people‑management capacity, successfully scaling complex products in a high‑growth technology organization.
  • Deep industry expertise in Fintech, Wealthtech, private markets, or heavily regulated financial services is required.
  • Undergraduate degree with a concentration in Technology, Finance, or Economics; MBA or advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of presenting to and collaborating with C‑level executives and senior leadership to translate abstract company vision into actionable, revenue‑driving product portfolios.
  • Mastery of the product lifecycle and go‑to‑market strategies, backed by a portfolio demonstrating significant business impact, user growth, or efficiency gains from launched products.
  • Advanced understanding of technical architecture and user‑centered design principles, enabling high‑level strategic partnerships with Engineering and Design leaders to navigate complex trade‑offs.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving acumen; expert at leveraging data analytics platforms (e.g., Mixpanel, Google Analytics, SQL) to make executive‑level "pivot or persevere" decisions.
  • Executive‑level written and oral communication skills, capable of drafting high‑level business documentation, pitching strategies across the organization, and distilling complex technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Exceptional entrepreneurial drive and resilience; a strategic champion who thrives in ambiguity, ruthlessly prioritizes at a macro level, and pushes past the uncertainty of new market expansions.

Benefits

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $190,000 per year at the commencement of employment; the final amount will be individualized and is only part of the total compensation package. Compensation may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, and other short‑ and long‑term incentive packages.
