General Statement of Duties

This position will report directly to the Division General Manager of Idaho Wine Merchants (IWM). The Southwest Sales Manager position will run the day-to-day sales activities of the on-premise and independent accounts in Southwest Idaho market. Duties will include but are not limited to: Achieving sales objectives and KPI's, sales training, wine education, account management, budgeting, and customer development . The position has latitude for independent direction in duties. This position is office based but requires 50% of the time in the market supporting sale initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The primary function of an employee in this class is to perform duties that include working closely with the IWM Suppliers, Sales, and Brand Management Teams, to develop and execute a business plan to achieve strategic and tactical goals.

Schedule: Monday through Friday
$80,000 - $100,000 DOE
Participates in formulating and administering company policies, as well as directing and coordinating all activities to develop and implement long-range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives.
Review analyses of activities, costs, sales targets and forecast data to determine division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
Collaborate with the IWM Division General Manager and other Sales Managers to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current market status and conditions.
Provide leadership for employee relations through effective management, communications, coaching, training, and development.
Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvement of issues and improved working relationships.
Develop, review, update and implement business strategic planning, including sales, financial performance, product-market execution, and operational metrics.
Reviews and supports sales to oversee design concepts with fundamental or new technology used for new or existing products or improvement to provide cost reduction, safety, customer requirements, and market growth.
Review supplier marketing and distribution brand plans to ensure sales execution.
Preform market Work With's with supplier as needed.
Performs regular monthly sales meetings and 1:1s with direct reports, sets goals and KPIs, holding team accountable for results and efficiencies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

College degree or equivalent beverage industry experience
High level of Wine Knowledge, WSET Level 2 or higher is preferred
10+ years of wine related experience
Demonstrate proficient skills in VIP, idig, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint programs
Demonstrate outstanding presentation and persuasive sales and analytical abilities
Demonstrate an exceptional ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external clients while providing high levels of service by communicating clear and timely responses to issues, requests, problems, and regular reporting
Demonstrate ability to work independently while functioning as a member of a team through communication and engagement in self-directed resourcefulness and analytical thinking
Demonstrate strong knowledge of beverage industry
Essential Physical Abilities

Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities which permits the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively with others in person and by telephone.
Sufficient visual and mental acuity, which permits the employee to comprehend written work instructions, and make determination of necessary actions to take to meet the presentation standards for the facility.
Sufficient body mobility, flexibility, and agility to occasionally lift and carry objects up to 60 pounds, lift objects weighing up to 15 pounds overhead, and work in an office environment and requires sitting for long periods of time.
Load and operate loaded hand truck safely, pushing/pulling hand truck with weights up to the equivalent of 200 pounds.
Sufficient manual dexterity which permits the employee to operate standard office equipment.
Must be able to travel to and from office, warehouse, and retail environments.
Schedule may vary but workday can regularly exceed 10 hours. Employee is paid to complete the job regardless of the number of hours.
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time position; Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday and must be available for holidays and after hours as business needs dictate.

Travel
Intermediate to frequent travel throughout area of responsibility is expected with this position. Overnight travel constitutes less than 20% of the time. This includes GM, Company and Supplier Meetings to Post Falls and Boise.
