DESCRIPTION
The Stevens Dramatic Society at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey is seeking a Production and Technical Manager for its Fall 2026 play production (awaiting show rights). The Society is entirely student‑run, staffed by full‑time college students. The manager must work with tight student schedules and budget constraints while collaborating with students who pursue theatre mainly as a hobby.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the Producer to schedule, attend, and lead all Production Board meetings and crew calls.
- Organize Load‑In and Load‑Out of the theatre.
- Advise Production Board members and provide support where needed.
- Help maintain a cohesive vision throughout the production.
- Guide the student set and lighting teams, managing the rest of the production team so students gain a professional understanding of their departments.
- Provide financial advisement for departmental investment decisions, if requested.
- Work closely with the student Producer to address any and all matters.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience working with college students is appreciated.
- Experience in production, technical management, or similar roles is preferred.
- Experience with other open positions such as Director or Stage Manager is a plus.
WORK SCHEDULE & DURATION
- August – November 7 2026
- Weekly rehearsals: Monday‑Thursday 8 pm‑11 pm; Saturday 10 am‑2 pm.
- Performance dates: 11 May 9 pm; 11 June 8 pm; 11 July 2 pm and 8 pm.
COMPENSATION
$3,500.00 – $3,500.00 per gig
