POSITION SUMMARY
The Digital & Social Content Producer is a creative and execution-focused professional within the Marketing & Communications department responsible for producing engaging digital content that supports the museum’s marketing and audience engagement goals. This role leads the creation, publishing, and day-to-day management of social media and digital content across platforms, bringing campaigns to life through compelling visual storytelling.

Working collaboratively with the marketing team, the Digital & Social Content Producer translates campaign direction and messaging into high-quality content that promotes museum visitation, public programs, restaurant and café offerings, and event venue experiences, as well as community connection and engagement with members, donors and sponsors. This role serves as the primary content producer for museum and hospitality channels, while collaborating with internal teams and partners to support aligned content across additional platforms, helping grow the museum’s digital presence, visibility, and community engagement.

This role supports both First Americans Museum Foundation (501c3) and 39 Enterprises LLC, which operates the restaurant, café, catering and venue rentals at FAM.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Creation & Production

Create digital content for social media and marketing initiatives, including photography, video, graphics, and short-form content

Capture real-time content across exhibitions, public programs, events, restaurant and café operations, and institutional activities

Develop content that supports audience engagement and promotes key initiatives, including visitation, dining, event experiences, and member and donor engagement

Serve as the primary content producer for museum and hospitality channels, ensuring consistent quality and storytelling

Optimize content for platform performance and maintain organized digital asset libraries

Social Media Management & Publishing

Manage day-to-day social media platforms for First Americans Museum and 39 Enterprises, including scheduling, publishing, and monitoring

Execute social media plans aligned with campaign direction, messaging, and institutional priorities

Exercise sound, independent judgment in content publishing within established brand, messaging, and platform guidelines, proactively seeking alignment on new or higher-risk content

Collaborate with internal and external teams, including FAMstore staff and local tourism partners, to support alignment across additional social & digital channels

Provide guidance for content contributed by internal teams to ensure consistency and quality

Monitor platform activity and engage with audiences in alignment with institutional voice

Collaborate with the Integrated Marketing Strategist to execute campaigns supporting exhibitions, programs, dining, event initiatives, and development priorities

Translate campaign direction and messaging into platform-specific content

Partner with the Communications & Content Specialist to ensure messaging is accurately reflected in content

Coordinate with Marketing Operations Specialist to support timely delivery and execution of digital content

Digital Content & Platform Support

Support website and digital content needs, including visual assets and content updates in coordination with the Marketing Operations Specialist

Assist with email and digital communications as needed

Maintain consistency of visual storytelling across digital platforms

Performance Tracking & Optimization

Monitor social media performance and engagement metrics

Identify trends, insights, and opportunities to improve content effectiveness

Support development of content processes and best practices for internal contributors

Support testing and optimization of content approaches across platforms

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, media, or related field

2‑4+ years experience in social media, digital content, or creative production

Ability to demonstrate high cultural competency with Native communities

Experience creating photo, video, and short‑form digital content

Familiarity with major social media platforms and trends

Working knowledge of analytics and content performance tracking

Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, ClickUp, Constant Contact, Dropbox, Hubspot, Mailchimp, OptiSigns, Roller, and WordPress not necessary, but considered a plus

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Strong creative, organizational, and time management skills

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work collaboratively across teams and adapt in a fast‑paced environment

Nonprofit, museum, cultural, tourism, or hospitality experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Dexterity enough to use a keyboard and telephone; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds; may be subject to extended periods of walking, standing, sitting, reaching, balancing, bending, kneeling, handling, feeling, climbing, and twisting; and vision, speech, and hearing sufficient to perform the essential tasks. Ability to travel outside the Oklahoma City vicinity from time to time via automobile and/or airplane.
