Overview
We are now accepting applications for a qualified Associate Video/Photographer at Belmont University.

Responsibilities
The position works collaboratively with University Marketing & Communications colleagues as well as partners across campus for video and photo storytelling and development; live events, including commencement ceremonies and press conferences; recruitment projects; sporting events; social media and website needs; and special initiatives. Assists in the production of video, photography, graphics, narration and closed captioning as well as production scheduling. Reports to the Videographer/Editor and supports and works in close partnership with the University Photographer.

Responsible for video and photo production, including, but not limited to, concept and storyboard development, location scouting, schedule planning, interviewing, filming, shooting, editing, organizing and archiving photography, raw video footage, video project files and related assets.

Edit and assemble final video content, including selecting scenes, color correction, audio mixing, transitions, visual effects, graphics, narration, voiceover, background music and brand each video consistently by the University’s brand standards.

Maintain consecutive ongoing projects, communicating consistently with supervisors and project managers and delivering edits as assigned by deadlines and within budget.

Assist in planning related to all content marketing and storytelling. Partner with University Photographer and/or Videographer on visual marketing and communications initiatives.

Assist in the management, maintenance and organization of equipment, including, but not limited to, cameras, lens, lighting and audio equipment, and keep abreast of new technologies.

Assist in the maintenance of the photo/video archive for storing, organizing and tagging all gathered raw and edited visual assets consistently, with easy identification and access.

Ability to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals either verbally or in writing to ensure that they understand the information and the message. Ability to listen and respond appropriately to others. Ability to impact and influence others to further the institution’s strategic objectives.

Technical, Computer, and Software Skills: Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic databases and software. Ability to aggregate data, generate reports, create pivot tables, etc. at expert level.

Ability to take photos and film with mirrorless DSLR Cameras with a strong knowledge of cinematographic techniques to ensure best possible angles and lighting for filming and recording high-quality audio.

Demonstrated skills and experience in photo and video editing including image manipulation, color correction, and color grading techniques using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere & AfterEffects) on Apple Mac Computers.

Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.

Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Required Education
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field. The degree should demonstrate a strong foundation in the core competencies required for the position, including critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills. Equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience may be considered where appropriate.

Required Experience
It is preferred that candidates have 3 to 4 years of relevant professional experience in a related field, demonstrating the ability to effectively perform the responsibilities of the role.

The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University.
