The Director of Marketing & Communications will oversee, coordinate, and participate in the development of marketing strategies and products for the organization, while ensuring clear communication that aligns with organizational priorities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
1. Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains marketing and communications staff in the department.
2. Manages department workflow and team output.
3. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
4. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with UNC Nash policy.
5. Facilitates teambuilding and reinforces UNC Nash culture and values.
Duties/Responsibilities :
1. Manages all external marketing/advertising/promotional activities and works with ad agency on best strategies for digital, print, billboard, social and other mediums to build the UNC Nash brand and drive service line growth and community trust.
2. Leads a team of communicators to develop and implement internal communications, newsletters, Human Resources/recruitment marketing communications, creative design, brand management, reputation management, social media, digital media and more.
3. Serves as media liaison for media requests and manages all press releases.
4. Responsible for team's media monitoring of UNC Nash media coverage and sharing findings with VP of Strategy and Communication.
5. Oversees team's work with employee town halls, hospital-wide digital message boards, intranet, external website, social media channels, search engine listings, digital analytics, and more.
6. Analyzes target market information and media analytics to measure effectiveness of marketing/communications strategies and to identify new marketing approaches to meet organizational goals and strategic priorities.
7. Identifies new market segments that will benefit from UNC Nash services.
8. Develops impactful advertising campaigns informed by market research that reflect UNC Nash's mission, values, culture, and strategic goals.
9. Ensures all graphic design, photography, and videography follow UNC Nash's brand standards, policies and strategic goals.
10. Maintains knowledge on emerging products and services to ensure best platforms and strategies are utilized.
11. Collaborates with UNC Nash leaders and senior executives to develop growth plans for the organization and specific service lines, while also providing strategic communications guidance and support to leaders across the organization.
12. Serves as liaison to UNC Health system-wide communications and marketing teams, ensuring alignment of messaging as appropriate.
13. Prepares, manages, and monitors the department's budget.
14. Manages organizational award applications and nominations for NCHA, AHA and other related awards/recognitions.
15. Performs other related duties as assigned
Other information:
Education Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field required
· Master's degree preferred.
License/Certifications Requirements:
· None
Professional Experience Requirements:
· At least five years of experience in marketing and long-range planning required.

Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
