Project Details:

We are seeking a hands-on,

strategic Search Consultant

to

lead

and

evolve our internal eCommerce search capabilities . This is an initial 6-month contract with a strong path to full-time employment. The role will focus on

optimizing

our

current search platform

while

helping guide the evaluation

and

potential migration to a new solution .
Must Have Skills:
Deep experience with

internal search platforms , particularly

Algolia

(required)
Strong understanding of

search algorithms, relevance tuning, ranking strategies, and query optimization
Experience

supporting

or

leading platform migrations

(e.g., to Bloomreach, , or Elasticsearch)
Background in

e-commerce internal search
Ability to balance hands-on technical work with strategic planning and leadership
Experience building or scaling search functions, including defining processes and best practices
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Prior people management experience or readiness to step into a leadership role
Day to Day:
Own

and

optimize internal eCommerce search

experience across the

platform
Manage and enhance current implementation in

Algolia , including

configuration ,

ranking algorithms,

and

performance tuning
Provide strategic input

and

technical support

in

evaluating

and

potentially

migrating

to platforms such as

Bloomreach, ,

or

Elasticsearch
Collaborate with cross-functional teams xywuqvp

to ensure search aligns with business goals, merchandising strategies, and customer experience
Establish

best practices, processes,

and

governance

for

search as a core function
Lead the development of a

scalable search practice , with

future responsibility

for

hiring and managing a team

(expected 3–4 direct reports)
Work closely with

SEO stakeholders

to

ensure alignment between internal search

and

broader discoverability strategies
Act as a

subject matter expert

on

search technologies ,

trends , and

innovation
