The
Account Manager – Builder Channel
will oversee the implementation of all sales programs and pricing (quote proposal, management, and negotiation) with local and regional market builder distributors and builders. This role is accountable for building a strong pipeline of business to achieve annual sales objectives. The position is responsible for training and cultivating all inside distributor sales personnel, and working with outside distributor sales personnel in closing new business opportunities with single family home builders, multi-family developers/contractors, and remodeling companies. The AM has the responsibility to ensure all sales programs are known to distributor personnel, and are leveraged to drive revenue and market share. This role will also facilitate Samsung’s order process with builder distributor administrative personnel to ensure compliance and efficient execution. The AM role converts national and regional execution plans into local market actions to achieve specific goals and objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Accountable for achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets while positioning the business for continued growth.
Enable builder distributor sales teams (inside and outside) with knowledge and understanding of the Samsung brand, while leveraging our value proposition, performance, and features of our products and services.
Along with distributor sales personnel, review products and programs with new and existing home builders, multi-family developers, design centers, and interior designers.
Gain an in-depth knowledge and expertise in regard to new and existing single family builders and multi-family construction projects in their market.
Prospect and build relationships with new builders, while maintaining strong relationships with existing builder clientele.
Identify business opportunities for builder distributor sales people and work with them to develop business relationships and close contracts.
Maintain an up-to-date sales call plan with objectives, and document communications/committed to actions to distributor personnel for appropriate follow up.
Manage a quote pipeline within Salesforce and ensure committed business is forecasted and ordered properly.
Expand and maintain showroom display presence across the assigned builder distributor showrooms.
Provide competitive market intelligence feedback to the Regional and National Sales Directors.
Utilize all available marketing support materials and lead generation programs.
Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of direct experience or equivalent industry experience.
Progressive sales career working with the home building industry, preferably in the home appliance space.
History of exceeding challenging sales quotas and overcoming objections/obstacles.
Known to be a thought leader within a high-performing sales team.
70% of time involved in selling activities (face-to-face with trade customers) with 30% in the home office conducting sales administration activities.
Ability to build and cultivate strong relationships with builder distributor personnel, home builders, developers, and contractors.
Possess solid time management and organizational skills.
Excels in multi-tasking, responsiveness, attention to detail, and follow-up.
Ability to utilize various tools to hunt for new business opportunities.
Highly effective in business negotiation.
Self-motivated with the ability to perform job requirements independently.
Product training expert on home appliances and smart home connectivity.
Utilizes Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills…Salesforce experience a plus.
Become an active member of local industry associations such as NAHB, NKBA, ASID, attends key meetings, and joins select committees.
Participates in regional and national trade shows.
Must reside in the Kansas City area.
