Visual Arts - Part Time Lecturer Pool

Position Overview
The Department of Art at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part‑Time Lecturer Pool. Primary responsibilities include teaching studio or lecture classes and collaborating with colleagues to develop curricular offerings. Lecturers may be eligible for a benefits package dependent on the credit‑load taught each semester.

Teaching Responsibilities
Lecturers will:

teach studio or lecture courses, prepare instruction and assessment materials, provide individual and group critique, maintain an inclusive learning environment, and participate in department meetings.

Requirements

Earned MFA degree or its equivalent, or comparable experience.

Experience teaching at the college or university level.

Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with culturally diverse students, including first‑generation college students.

Working knowledge of historical and contemporary art practices.

Ability to facilitate group and individual critiques.

Clear communication skills and collaboration with students.

Organized and proficient in using digital platforms to deliver content.

Preferred Qualifications

Significant teaching experience with diverse populations and fostering an inclusive environment.

Relevant performance and professional experience in the visual arts fields listed above.

Appointment & Salary
All appointments are for one semester only and are made as Lecturers under the CSU system collective bargaining agreement.

Classification range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month.

Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications: not to exceed $6,221 per month.

Typical compensation for a 3‑unit assignment: $6,608.40 – $7,465.20 per semester.

Availability
Appointments are temporary and often made just before the start of the academic term. Applicants must be available on very short notice.

Appointment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. The holder of this position is a mandated reporter under California law and must comply with the required reporting procedures.
