Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a VP of Marketing on behalf of our client, a fast-growing, PE-backed network of veterinary clinics, hospitals, and animal care practices focused on consolidating high-quality, locally branded veterinary services. This role is responsible for building and leading a high-impact marketing function that drives measurable growth across the entire network. The VP of Marketing will own the full marketing funnel including demand generation, conversion, and retention, and will directly connect marketing performance to clinic-level growth and EBITDA outcomes. This is a highly strategic and hands-on leadership role focused on building a scalable, performance-driven marketing engine across enterprise, regional, and local practice levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Own full-funnel marketing performance including client acquisition, retention, and reactivation across the network
Drive measurable ROI and CAC efficiency tied directly to same-store growth and EBITDA impact
Define and manage enterprise marketing strategy aligned to overall growth objectives
Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting systems that drive actionable business decisions
Build clear linkage between marketing performance and clinic-level financial outcomes
Allocate and reallocate marketing investments based on performance, market conditions, and capacity constraints
Partner closely with Operations to ensure marketing demand aligns with hospital staffing and service capacity
Prevent overdriving constrained practices while supporting profitable, sustainable growth
Integrate marketing strategy into operational rhythms including performance and business reviews
Lead enterprise brand marketing including digital presence, social channels, and events
Develop local practice-level marketing strategies to drive hospital-level growth while preserving brand autonomy
Build scalable playbooks for local marketing execution across multiple geographies
Own acquisition channels including paid search, paid social, local SEO, and reputation management
Build systems for reviews, referrals, and geo-targeted marketing programs
Lead recruitment and talent marketing initiatives in partnership with HR and Talent Acquisition
Develop employer branding strategies to support veterinarian and technician hiring
Support Business Development with B2B marketing initiatives and partnership growth
Lead marketing strategy for new hospital launches including onboarding and early performance tracking
Ensure alignment of early marketing success with integration and growth milestones
Manage agency partners, vendors, and internal marketing team members
Build a test-and-learn culture focused on rapid iteration and continuous optimization
Oversee marketing technology stack evolution in partnership with IT
Develop dashboards and reporting frameworks even in a data-light environment
Own marketing budget allocation across all channels with a strong focus on ROI and accountability
Act as a hands-on leader, directly contributing to campaign strategy, execution, and optimization
Requirements include:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field required
Experience:
10+ years of progressive marketing experience
Experience in multi-location, field-based, or service-oriented industries strongly preferred (healthcare, retail, franchise, or multi-unit services)
Experience building marketing functions from the ground up strongly preferred
Skills:
Strong performance marketing and demand generation expertise
Ability to connect marketing activity to financial and operational outcomes
Experience managing paid media, SEO, CRM, and digital acquisition channels
Strong leadership and team-building capabilities
Vendor and agency management experience
Strong analytical thinking with ability to operate in lower-data environments
Excellent communication and executive presence
Cross-functional collaboration with Operations, HR, Finance, and Technology teams
Certifications:

Knowledge:
Deep understanding of multi-location or distributed service business models
Knowledge of digital marketing ecosystems including Google Ads, paid social, and local SEO
Familiarity with customer journey mapping and lifecycle marketing
Understanding of brand vs. local marketing dynamics
