Director Of Marketing
Smard Art is a fast-growing e-commerce company under TAAC Group that celebrates Black culture through bold, expressive art pieces. It retails millions of art pieces and accessories both locally and internationally via its e-commerce platform, making them accessible to a wide audience. Our portfolio spans art, home décor, apparel, and creative consumer products, supported by strong distribution partnerships across major global retail chains, including HomeGoods, HomeSense, Winners, and many others.
The Director of Marketing will be responsible for building and leading the organic marketing, brand activations, retention, and strategic partnerships functions. This role will drive customer acquisition, brand visibility, engagement, and customer lifetime value. The ideal candidate will be directly responsible for handling all tasks specifically for the Smard Art brand within the group.
Responsibilities
Strategy and Growth Leadership
Develop and own the company's organic growth strategy
Build full-funnel organic marketing systems from awareness to conversion
Lead data-backed performance strategies and continuous optimization
Translate business goals into actionable growth initiatives
Brand and Visibility
Scale brand visibility without paid dependency
Lead brand activations across digital and physical touchpoints
Build strong cultural positioning and brand narratives
Ensure consistency and excellence across all brand communications
Content, Influencer, and Community Systems
Build influencer and UGC frameworks
Lead content creators and creative output
Develop community growth engines and engagement systems
Design partnerships and collaboration strategies that accelerate reach and credibility
Team Leadership and Execution
Oversee and manage the social media and content teams
Set clear performance expectations and execution standards
Build scalable workflows and growth infrastructure
Drive accountability and results across all organic channels
Data, Performance, and Optimization
Track performance metrics and growth KPIs
Build reporting systems and feedback loops
Optimize campaigns using data, insights, and experimentation
Continuously improve reach, engagement, and conversion performance
Qualification
Proven experience leading organic growth or marketing strategy
Strong background in content systems, social media growth, and community building
Experience managing creative teams and digital marketers
Deep understanding of organic acquisition, engagement, and retention systems
Strong analytical and performance optimization mindset
Ability to execute fast, iterate faster, and scale what works
