The Director of Mergers & Acquisitions supports Baker Hughes' inorganic growth agenda by leading and executing complex M&A transactions across the enterprise. This role is responsible for driving end‑to‑end deal execution, from opportunity origination through due diligence, approval, and closing, while coordinating closely with internal functions and external advisors. By combining strategic insight, financial rigor, and strong stakeholder management, the Director helps deliver transactions that advance business objectives, strengthen competitive positioning, and enhance shareholder value.

Responsibilities

  • Driving all activities related to Mergers and Acquisitions projects, including private or public acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, corporate alliances, and divestitures.
  • Executing multiple aspects of M&A transactions, including strategic assessment, valuation analysis, due diligence, and transaction structuring.
  • Coordinating and leading cross‑functional teams across legal, finance, tax, technology, human resources, and other corporate functions throughout all stages of the M&A process.
  • Managing relationships and communications with target companies, external advisors, and Baker Hughes senior executives.
  • Supporting the development and finalization of business cases, transaction documentation, and materials for governance and Executive Leadership approval.
  • Ensuring disciplined project management, risk management, and timely execution of transactions in line with Baker Hughes' strategic priorities.

Qualifications

  • Have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 additional years of experience in mergers and acquisitions or related transaction roles.
  • Have previous experience within investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or corporate development, which is highly preferred.
  • Have proven experience leading cross‑functional teams and managing complex M&A processes end‑to‑end.
  • Have strong financial, analytical, and strategic evaluation capabilities.
  • Have experience working with networks of external stakeholders, including financial advisors, legal counsel, and other transaction partners.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior leadership.
