Production Technician

This position will be given exposure into multiple manufacturing areas and will cross train for multiple skill sets. This opening, for example, will offer training in our Shapes Machine to Forklift Driving. At Allura, we have a culture of promoting from within whenever possible. Positions start from $18.00 p/hour to $21.00 p/hour depending on experience and

increase with responsibility with higher payrates.

Night shift employees have an $1.00/hour shift differential added to their payrate.

Overtime is currently offered.

Job Overview
Responsible for the operation of the Prefinish Paint Line, Shapes, or other production work center for our Fiber Cement Siding products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Will eventually learn all positions for the line or work center
Assists with troubleshooting line and production problems as needed
Responsible for keeping all paint tanks full as needed
Mix and test paint to correct thickness
Make sure product is getting the correct amount of paint
Make adjustments to the equipment as necessary for the different products to keep the line running smoothly
Adjust oven temperatures as necessary
Change paint filters when needed
Performs other duties as necessary such as routine preventative maintenance activities and clean-up
Responsible for maintaining excellent housekeeping of work area
Weekend work and mandatory overtime may be required to meet production requirements
Ability to work assigned work rotation
Flexibility to adjust schedule in support of Production changes
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to meet production levels
Responsible for observing all plant standard operating procedures and safety policies
Responsible for teamwork communication with production operators and supervisors
Must wear appropriate PPE at all times (hardhat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots and ear plugs required at all times; additional PPE may be required depending on tasks)
Participate in training programs to enhance environmental and safety performance
Perform assigned tasks as specified in the environmental procedures and work instructions
Understand the significant environmental impacts of my job activities and the consequences of departing from specified work instructions
Must have initiative and exhibit good judgment
Must perform with safe work practices at all times
Must consult and problem-solve area with coworkers
Familiarity with computers
KNOWLEDGE:

High school diploma or GED required
Must possess well-developed observation skills
