District Sales Manager
in collaboration with a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer. The individual in this role will provide strategic leadership to a field‑based sales team, leveraging market insights, customer requirements, and market access dynamics to achieve and surpass business objectives. This will be accomplished through the effective use of market data, promotional resources, and by coaching and mentoring sales representatives to exceed alignment with client expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Align district strategies with brand direction and develop, implement, and execute both district and account‑level plans.
Formulate district business plans that support and reinforce the national product strategy.
Lead periodic district sales meetings designed to facilitate training and drive the implementation of the national product strategy.
Contribute to the planning and execution of annual business plans, employee training initiatives, and regular sales meetings.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge and management of territory‑level sales targets and relevant incentive compensation programs.
Conduct routine field visits to coach, develop, and motivate sales representatives towards the achievement of sales goals; assess field activity, review work schedules, and oversee field reporting including call documentation.
Manage recruitment, interviewing, and selection of talent within the district.
Oversee performance evaluations, personnel issues, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
Ensure compliance with promotional programs, appropriate use of promotional materials, and adherence to promotional expense budgets.
Supervise timekeeping and attendance; acquire proficiency in CRM, BI, HR, and promotional systems, and ensure thorough training of representatives on these platforms.
Review and approve expense reports and fully monitor adherence to company expense policies.
Maintain consistent and timely communication with the Project Lead/NSM and the client, when applicable.
Required Qualifications
Minimum bachelor’s degree from a 4‑year accredited college or university
Willingness to travel extensively
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of five years of experience in pharmaceutical or medical sales is strongly preferred.
High level business & financial acumen
Creative thinker with an ability to address challenges and deliver solutions
Demonstrated success in persuasion, influence and negotiation skills
Initiative, execution oriented
Cross‑functional teamwork experience & skills

The potential base pay range for this role is $130-150K annually. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job‑related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part‑time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
