Social Media Marketing Summer Job

We are a small, patient-centered medical practice seeking a creative and motivated Social Media & Marketing Student  to help grow our local presence and engage our community. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate student looking to gain hands-on experience in healthcare marketing while building a strong professional portfolio. This would be a great fit for someone that is self-driven and self-directed.

Position Details


Hours: 10-15 hours per week

Duration: 8 weeks

Compensation$18.00-22.00 per hour

Mileage ReimbursementYes (IRS standard rate)


Key Responsibilities:


Content Creation & Social Media

  • Develop, schedule, and manage engaging content across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Create graphics, reels, stories, and posts aligned with the practice's brand voice and patient audience
  • Monitor social media engagement, respond to comments, and track performance metrics
  • Research trending healthcare topics and local community events to inform content strategy

Video Production

  • Capture, edit, and produce short-form video content for social media and the practice website
  • Conduct on-site filming at the practice and local community events
  • Edit footage using professional video editing tools to deliver polished, publish-ready content

Local Marketing

  • Identify and pursue local marketing opportunities including community events, partnerships, and sponsorships
  • Distribute promotional materials and represent the practice at local outings as needed
  • Support grassroots outreach efforts to increase brand awareness within the surrounding community

Front Desk Support

  • Assist front desk staff as needed with patient check-in, phones, and general administrative tasks
  • Maintain a professional, welcoming demeanor consistent with the practice's patient care standards
Qualifications


Required

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate-level program (MBA, Marketing, Communications, Public Health, or related field)
  • Demonstrated experience in social media content creation and management
  • Proficiency in video capture and editing (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities


Preferred

  • Experience marketing to local or community-based audiences
  • Familiarity with healthcare or medical practice environments
  • Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Express, or similar)
  • Knowledge of SEO, Google Business Profile, or local digital advertising

Work Environment
