JOB DESCRIPTION:

OVERVIEW:
The initial focus is on courseware, where the writers will primarily act as copywriters, proofreading and clarifying complex technical concepts for a general audience
Technical writers to document client's customized HL7 Fire standard, create internal courseware, and assist with product writing and configurability, emphasizing the need for versatile skills for a long-term engagement
These writers will work on product writing, documentation, and configurability of the platform, including for products like client's Workbench (A key area of focus is documenting the customized aspects of the HL7 Fire standard, which is used for exchanging health information)
HL7 Fire Documentation and Internal Training: A significant part of the technical writing effort involves documenting client's customized 20% of the HL7 Fire standard, which goes beyond the 80% general use case. This documentation is crucial for external organizations consuming client's data model and for internal teams to understand its usage. Additionally, there's a need for internal courseware to train client's employees on HL7 Fire, as it is a complex subject
Looking for a team with diverse skills, including platform writing, third-party tool integration, test case creation for configured tools, and course creation for HL7 Fire.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Write technical documentation for internal and external engineers as part of our product development lifecycle including: software requirements/specifications documentation, software and system processes.
Design and organize documentation for system components and products
Edit, clarify and proofread documentation written by others, and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing skills.
Work closely with technical teams to develop processes for maintaining awareness for adding/updating documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
Experience writing technical documentation for product and/or software development.
Ability to work well in a team and as an individual contributor.
Experience writing documentation in markdown format.

Preferred Qualifications

Working with document management systems such as mkdocs, mkdocs-material, hugo or MDX.
Working knowledge or experience in one of the following: FHIR R4 or OMOP Common Data model.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced changing environment.
Experience in healthcare research, clinical informatics or another regulated related field.
