Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill two Graphic Design Assistant student positions for University Housing & Dining Services at Oregon State University. UHDS Graphic Design Assistants create a variety of print and digital work, including signage, photography and promotional material in support of highlighting the 15 residence halls, more than 25 dining locations and three apartment complexes on the Corvallis campus and events and initiatives led by the department.
Graphic Design Assistants are vital to the UHDS Marketing, Outreach and Communications unit. They work in collaboration with a digital media assistant, marketing and communications managers, the assistant director and the director of marketing. Graphic Design Assistants must be able to balance multiple projects, meet tight deadlines and work creatively within OSU's brand guidelines.
The students in this position should plan to work at least 10 hours per week and no more than 20 hours per week. Period of employment is approximately June 2026-June 2027, with the possibility of continued work through the summer and into the next academic year. There is also the possibility to begin employment in September 2026.

Position Duties
Graphic design and photography
Create compelling and eye-catching promotional materials for print, social media, digital displays and other media using the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, Premiere)
Develop visual communications to inform and engage diverse stakeholders and audiences across the OSU community
Take photos and participate in photoshoots to highlight the on-campus experience including food offered at UHDS locations
Digital screen updates
Collaborate with the UHDS marketing management team to post and assist in managing content on UHDS digital display screens (located in dining locations and residential buildings)
Team collaboration and other duties
Participate in marketing meetings and brainstorm sessions
Partner with professional and student marketing staff through weekly student staff meetings, brainstorming sessions, and discussions to develop and improve visual communication assets
Utilize proper file management with a high degree of diligence and organization
Collaborate with marketing management to move projects from initiation to concept, to execution and completion
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the
Office of International Services
(OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
Strong interest and/or past experience working with graphic design, creating fliers, posters, digital materials and/or multi-page documents
Basic photography skills and experience
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software with working proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment while also working independently with a high level of self-direction
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Proficiency in the following software programs: Lightroom, Acrobat Pro, After Effects, Premiere
Video and social media marketing skills
Experience living in an on-campus environment
Enrolled in graphic design, new media communications or related degree area of study
Bilingual skills, preferably Spanish language speaker
Commitment to diversity and learning about identities other than your own
Experience working within a brand system
