Overview
We are seeking a Corporate Communications & PR leader to own and execute proactive, high impact corporate communications in the U.S. This role is an individual contributor who will partner closely with executive leadership to translate raw messaging into compelling, credible stories that strengthen brand reputation, elevate executive thought leadership, and deepen media relationships.
This role is highly execution focused. Strategy already exists; we need someone who can deliver clear messaging, smart pitching, strong spokesperson prep, and consistent results.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate PR & Proactive Storytelling
Own and execute proactive corporate PR messaging, emphasizing positive messaging, third‑party storytelling, and long‑term reputation building
Translate raw executive messaging into polished narratives, remarks, talking points, opinion pieces, and media ready content
Develop differentiated corporate messaging platforms beyond product and consumer brand awareness (e.g., innovation, U.S. impact, community, standards leadership)
Media Relations & Executive Visibility
Leverage and expand strong national and trade media relationships (business, technology, innovation, standards, and policy adjacent outlets)
Drive proactive media tours, briefings, and event based opportunities
Position the company as an industry leader and CEO or appointed spokesperson through speaking engagements, interviews, panels, and contributed content
Prepare executives for media, including spokesperson training, briefing documents, and on‑the‑spot messaging
Thought Leadership & Industry Engagement
Support leadership presence at Wi‑Fi8 events, standards meetings, and industry forums, developing messaging, remarks, and media strategies around each
Manage PR tied to standards bodies, innovation leadership, and technical milestones, translating complex topics into accessible narratives
Identify opportunities where corporate contributions (e.g., donations, community initiatives) organically support thought leadership without feeling promotional
Corporate Reputation & Community Impact
Tell the story of the company’s impact on Irvine, the U.S., and broader markets, including innovation, economic contribution, sustainability, and community initiatives (e.g., tree planting, giving programs etc)
Collaborate with external PR agencies while ensuring clear differentiation between corporate PR and product/brand PR while maintaining a similar voice
Ensure consistent messaging across earned media, executive appearances, events, and internal communications
Internal Communications
Support internal communications initiatives that reinforce corporate priorities, leadership messaging, and company values
Ensure alignment between what is communicated externally and what employees hear internally
Experience
10+ years in corporate public relations or communications, preferably in complex or regulated environments
Director‑or Senior Manager level experience as a hands‑on individual contributor
Background in journalism or media strongly preferred
Experience working with executives as primary spokespersons
Non‑tech background welcome; ability to quickly understand and translate technical or standards‑based topics is essential
Skills & Expertise
Proven ability to shape executive messaging and elevate it into credible, media ready stories
Strong public speaking capability
Deep expertise in managing media relations, including pitching, narrative timing, relationship based storytelling, and managing journalists
Exceptional writing and editing skills, press materials, talking points, remarks, op-eds
Strong judgment and ability to represent the company in sensitive or high visibility moments
Highly detail oriented with flawless execution standards

Why This Role Matters

Salary: $175,000 - $200,000
