Advent is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Marketing to lead all B2B marketing efforts. This role is responsible for elevating brand presence, driving qualified lead generation, and positioning the agency as a thought leader in its core markets.
The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist and doer-capable of shaping brand voice and long-term marketing vision while also executing campaigns, optimizing digital channels, and managing day-to-day performance. This leader will oversee a Marketing Coordinator and manage a budget to maximize ROI and support business development goals.
Requirements
Strategic Leadership
Partner with the SVP of Marketing to define and execute a comprehensive B2B marketing strategy aligned with agency growth goals
Develop annual marketing plans, KPIs, and budget allocation strategies
Align marketing efforts with sales objectives to drive measurable pipeline growth
Brand Strategy & Messaging
Own and evolve the agency's brand positioning, voice, and messaging framework
Ensure consistency across all marketing channels and touchpoints
Collaborate with agency leadership to refine value proposition and thought leadership themes
Digital Marketing & Website Oversight
Oversee website strategy, content, performance optimization, and ongoing enhancements
Lead SEO strategy development and implementation (technical, on-page, and content-driven)
Monitor analytics and conversion performance to continuously improve results
Manage external partners or tools as needed to support optimization efforts
Content & Social Media
Develop and oversee content strategy including case studies, thought leadership, blogs, and campaign materials
Lead B2B social media strategy (LinkedIn-first, with supporting platforms as appropriate)
Establish a content calendar aligned with agency priorities and industry trends
Lead Generation & Outbound Marketing
Design and execute outbound marketing campaigns targeting priority sectors
Develop targeted email campaigns and nurture flows
Implement lead capture and marketing automation best practices
Industry Visibility & Conferences
Lead strategy for industry conference participation, sponsorships, and speaking opportunities
Identify and pursue thought leadership placements and award submissions
Develop supporting materials and activation strategies to maximize ROI from events
Budget & Team Management
Manage annual marketing budget with clear ROI accountability
Oversee and mentor Marketing Coordinator
Manage external vendors, freelancers, and technology platforms
Qualifications
8-12+ years of B2B marketing experience, preferably within a creative agency, professional services, architecture/design, or consulting environment
Proven experience driving measurable lead generation and sales pipeline growth
Strong understanding of SEO, website performance optimization, and marketing analytics
Experience managing industry conferences and thought leadership initiatives
Excellent writing and messaging skills with the ability to articulate complex value propositions clearly
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets strategically and efficiently
Experience supervising at least one direct report
Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
