The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Office of Admissions seeks a Communications Specialist to work in the fast‑paced world of college admissions. The Communications Specialist is part of the Admissions Communications Team under the Assistant Director of Communications and will be responsible for helping achieve strategic institutional enrollment goals.
UAA is seeking a creative communicator to develop and manage content that supports Enrollment Services and student recruitment. This role produces print, email, web, and social media content aligned with UAA's brand and strategic goals. The position collaborates with the Director of Admissions, campus partners, and vendors to support new student communication, recruitment initiatives, and Enrollment Services messaging through platforms like Salesforce and Marketing Cloud.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, along with experience creating content across print, web, social media, and CRM platforms. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines are essential. You should be comfortable working with vendors, applying accessibility best practices, and aligning content with institutional goals. A background in communications, journalism, or a related field, plus a strategic eye for content, design, and audience engagement, will help you excel.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
Two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
