Midway University is seeking a dynamic, detail-driven
Sports Information Director
to lead a comprehensive public relations program for an active athletic department. Reporting to the Vice President of Athletics and Student Affairs, you will serve as the primary media contact and storyteller for the university's 29 athletic programs-shaping how Midway's student-athletes are seen by fans, media, and recruits nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as primary media contact for all 24 NAIA and 5 non-NAIA sports programs
Write and distribute all athletics news releases and game-day communications
Manage real-time game statistics collection and reporting
Produce department publications, media guides, and digital content
Maintain and update the athletics website and social media presence
Oversee distribution of all department-related news releases
Cover events as required, including evenings, weekends, and select holidays
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Sports Management, or a related field
Proficiency with sports statistics software and standard computer applications
Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong customer service orientation
Superior organizational skills with sharp attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, often with frequent interruptions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in print layout and desktop publishing
Proficiency in web design and content management systems
Background in sports broadcasting or play-by-play experience
