Independence Systems, an I.T. placement company in Princeton, NJ is working with a Princeton, NJ client to fill a Full-Time/Paid UNIX Internship. This client is a huge Fortune 100 company and they are looking for candidates who have a Bachelors Degree and knowledge of Unix to work in a team in the data center. Free Unix classes are offered to the interns every week. After 3-6 months of the internship, Managers select their staff from this data department and the intern is turned over to Permanent employees with a salary from 36,000 to 76,000 with great benefits. Candidate must be eager, confident, willing and assertive. If you are an entry level Information Technology person, you want this opportunity! Create interfaces for streaming audio and video presentations. Create brand identity proposals, miscellaneous Internet graphic production. Requirements: Proficient with Macromedia's Flash, Freehand, Adobe's PhotoShop, AfterEffects, and Illustrator, understanding of Web graphics and standards, must have versatile aesthetic and design sensibilities, able to work independently and take on responsibility, must be able to provide examples of previous work. Huge pluses are the ability to develop with HTML, Java, Script, and SMIL. Audio/video editing and encoding experience. Proficient in Macromedia's Director and 3-D Studio Max. An understanding of streaming technologies is helpful. This is a one-year full-time internship.

Sales Intern
Skills: Good verbal skills and ability to learn sales tactics.

The sales intern must be a person with a positive, energetic attitude who has excellent verbal skills and is not afraid to take initiative on the tasks his/her position may require. This person will work closely with the Business Development Department, specifically the VP of Business Development and the Sales Representative, to help establish leads through cold calling, and then help organize these leads into a well thought-out and structured database. S/he will also conduct market research and analysis as needed by the Business Development Department.

Develop interactive and dynamically updated multimedia presentations for the Internet. Write CGI and server side scripts. Create applets, cookies, and servlets. Create scripts that automate content creation. Minor web and Real Server administration. Requirements: Proficient with JavaScript, PERL, XML, and HTML, understanding of Internet protocols, experience with Linux/Unix server administration, understanding of Databases and how they are accessed, able to work independently and take on responsibility, must be able to provide examples of previous work. Huge pluses are the ability to use Cold Fusion, Lingo, ActionScript, C++, Java, ASP and VBScript. An understanding of streaming technologies is helpful. This is a one-year full-time internship.
