Job SummaryThe Social Media Manager is responsible for developing and executing a content-first strategy across Moon Valley Nurseries’ social media and owned channels. This role focuses on producing educational, informative, and brand-aligned content designed to build trust and engagement with target audiences, particularly Gen X and Boomer demographics.The position requires a balance of strategic planning, hands-on content creation, and performance analysis to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a comprehensive content strategy across social and owned platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, and the company blogBuild, manage, and maintain an integrated content and editorial calendarCreate original, educational, and brand-consistent content to support engagement and audience growthWrite clear, effective copy tailored to platform-specific audiencesCapture and edit photo and video content for digital distributionSupport customer engagement and assist in managing brand reputation across social platformsMonitor content performance and analyze data to optimize future content strategiesEnsure consistency in brand voice, messaging accuracy, and overall content qualityIdentify and manage social media vendors & influencers, partner with agency on paid social amplification and budgets.Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesProven experience in content creation, social media management, or digital marketingStrong writing, editing, and storytelling skillsUnderstanding of digital behavior and content consumption patterns of Gen X and Boomer audiencesExperience capturing and editing short-form video and photographyAnalytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and apply insightsProficiency with content and social media tools, including Canva, Sprout Social, and CapCutStrong organizational skills and attention to detailCustomer-focused mindset with an understanding of brand representationInterest or familiarity with plants, landscaping, or outdoor living is preferredEducationBS or MS degree in Marketing or equivalent experiencePhysical requirements/Working ConditionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 15 pounds. Able to work outdoors in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
