The Account Manager – Waterworks is responsible for the overall successful management of 50‑70 distribution national accounts, developing new sales strategies to solicit new customers, increasing sales of current distributors, and meeting monthly targets. The role requires collecting market information about pricing, competitor information, and recent market changes to report to the Sales Manager, and providing end‑to‑end account management and relationship building with distributors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage daily business activities of assigned accounts which include pricing, shipments, scheduling of orders, order entry, ensuring new orders are secured, and delivering the highest level of service possible under company sales SOPs.
Develop business through existing or new customers in the assigned territory to ensure adequate market share.
Develop and maintain product knowledge of all company products through technical training seminars and self‑study.
Send samples, literature, testing data, and necessary documentation to customers; initiate and follow through on dispute resolution with product assurance.
Respond to customer requests for quotation accurately and promptly; visit customers regularly to maintain good relationships; propose improved ideas via proper channels.
Work closely with Production to ensure product availability in the appropriate areas.
Be available to work with customers in different time zones to meet their needs.
Attend and actively participate in weekly sales meetings.
Assist the credit department with collections issues and resolve disputes with customer accounts.
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary or trade‑secret information disclosed during employment.

Education And/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent experience in sales, telemarketing, or customer service acceptable; and 3 years of inside/outside sales experience in a quota‑driven, B2B sales environment.
Computer Skills
Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; Internet/Intranet experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret technical documents; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of employees and customers; excellent verbal and written communication.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and handle variable situations with limited standardization; interpret instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled form.
Physical Demands
Requires regular use of hands and fingers, speaking, hearing, sitting, occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Visual acuity for close and distant tasks is required.
Work Environment
Work environment is usually quiet, with typical office conditions and occasional travel or on‑site visits.
