Job Description – Regional Sales Manager New York State

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth by developing and maintaining strong relationships across the food service and retail channels on behalf of Catelli Brothers’ Family of Foods. This role focuses on expanding market presence, increasing revenue, and positioning Catelli as the preferred partner for profitable protein solutions.
Aligned with Catelli Brothers’ mission to be the best customers’ first choice in providing quality beef, chicken, pork, Lamb and veal product solutions, this position delivers value-driven offerings that meet the customer’s needs while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
The Regional Sales Manager collaborates closely with internal cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Production, and Process improvement to ensure alignment of strategic goals, product availability, and customer satisfaction. In addition, this position works with external trade partners such as brokers, distributors, and operators to execute sales strategies, identify new business opportunities, and strengthen existing partnerships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and implements sales programs for the region.
Plans and is responsible for achieving sales objectives in the region.
Trains, developers, and mentors inside and/or outside sales representatives/brokers and/or distributors for the region. Coordinates budgets, forecasts, and reports. Oversees handling or may manage key accounts.
Promotes and sells company products through direct customer contacts within assigned geographic territory.
Schedules sales calls and submits report of sales activities.
Requires complete knowledge of the organization's policies, products, and/or services.
Responsibilities also include preparing displays, staffing, and participating in trade shows or conventions.
Responds to customer requests and questions regarding service, products, and account information.
Analyzes and rectifies customer concerns using established procedures.
Conduct sales calls, schedules, promotional work, and track sales activities.
Quotes prices, prepares proposals, and provides information regarding terms of sales and delivery dates.
Develop new business within assigned region or industry.
Ensures technical assistance and information is provided to customers to prevent or resolve problems with product performance.
Provides training and service literature to customers.
Works with sales and production to implement new products or improvements to existing products.
Receives and processes orders for products or merchandise by e-mail, phone or in person. Completes order transaction and forwards order on to be filled by customer service team.
Represents a positive organizational image to the public, clients, shareholders, and the community.
Prepares various sales reports. Maintains files, schedules appointments, and makes travel arrangements.
Provides customers with product or service information to assist them in determining appropriate merchandise to purchase.
Recommends additional products or services to meet customer needs. May arrange special orders, and delivery.
Develops relationships with new and existing customers and provides information to maximize sales volume.
Originates phone calls and e-mails to prospective customers and provides information about products and services.
Respond to incoming calls from prospective customers.
Reviews sales efforts with peers to identify opportunities and/or prospects.

Requirements

Highly ethical and transparent about all business matters.
Knowledge of protein sales.
Knowledge of the food industry and experience with national and regional distribution networks and broadlines.
Strong people skills and the ability to develop, maintain, and manage business relationships at all organizational levels.
Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing. Bilingual a plus.
Initiative-taker with the entrepreneurial passion to achieve success.
Approachable, collaborative and an effective collaborator.
Well-organized time management and follow-up.
Proficient with office technology (computers, phones, MS applications).
Highly focused and effective working from home/remotely.
Cooperatively willing to support other Regional Sale team members.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred)
5+ years of sales experience, preferably in foodservice, retail, or protein industry
Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
Experience working with brokers, distributors, and key accounts
Strong understanding of foodservice and retail sales channels
