Kforce has a client located in Beaverton, OR that is seeking a Design Director (Retail Experience) to join their Design Team. This role supports and develops creative direction for permanent retail environments and seasonless retail experiences, with a focus on integrating online and offline channels.Summary:This is a creative, collaborative, and strategic leader who develops impactful and scalable design solutions for immersive retail experiences. They have experience using emerging technology to create engaging consumer environments and can work across Environmental Graphic Design, Fixtures, Materials, and Digital design. The Design Director will ideate creative concepts, illustrate ideas, and stay hands-on through project completion. They will manage multiple projects simultaneously, partnering with Brand Creative teams, Store Concepts teams, and agency partners to deliver immersive concepts and experiences. This person will stay connected to future design trends and apply them to immersive storytelling and consumer experiences.Under the direction of a Senior Creative Director, you will partner with internal and external design teams to create innovative retail environments, displays, and digital solutions while ensuring creative intent, timelines, and budgets are achieved.Duties: Partner with the Senior Creative Director to support long-term vision, strategy, and design continuity
Lead design exploration focused on color, materiality, texture, spacing, scale, and environment
Create innovative consumer experiences through graphics, styling, photography, and digital mediums
Develop presentation materials that communicate design concepts to leadership and partners
Collaborate with producers, internal teams, and external partners to ensure design feasibility and functionality
Foster innovative thinking, collaboration, and teamwork
Skills Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Environmental Design, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and training
10+ years of progressive, technically sophisticated design experience in architectural, experiential or brand design and a demonstrated ability to apply these skills in ways that elevate brand excellence
A passion for the Athlete, Sport, and Culture
Expert in applying and performing design skills including concepting, ideation, drawing/sketching, typography, color theory, texture, spatial design in scale, visual presentation development and space planning layouts
Strong knowledge of current trends in color, graphic design, art, photography, architecture and experience design and their application to the sport industry
Strong knowledge of production design, fabrication, materiality, and emerging manufacturing trends
Demonstrated strength in operating in a design studio and delivering progressively complex projects of varying scales, budgets, and timelines
Expert oral and written communication and presentations skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations to senior management
At the project level, drive a clear vision and lead others in the development of concurrent projects
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with a highly developed ability to cultivate relationships in an open, positive and inclusive environment
A strong portfolio of relevant work
Demonstrated expertise using computer design applications including SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper, V-Ray, Figma, Keynote and Adobe Creative Suite
Experience with motion graphics and video-editing is a plus
Experience with: Graphic design
Spatial design
Retail design experience
Brand storytelling
Environment design experience
3D rendering experience
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
