Director of Marketing for Ecuador The Director of Marketing for Ecuador will be responsible for driving tactical marketing execution aligned with business goals, ensuring strong brand equity, market penetration, and digital engagement. This leader will manage end-to-end marketing operations, leverage data to inform decision-making, and provide country-specific insights to influence regional plans. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional and corporate teams, including Brand Executive Directors, Digital, Merchandising, and local agencies.
This is a high-impact role for a visionary leader with a deep understanding of the Ecuadorian market, who can bridge internal performance metrics with external competitiveness to generate value and customer pull across channels.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Execution
Own the execution and optimization of brand marketing plans and activations to increase awareness, drive consumer pull, and grow market share.
Ensure the full implementation of catalog strategies to support portfolio penetration.
Participate in merchandising forums and workshops for tactical planning and campaign adjustments.
Recommend resource reallocation to optimize investment between consumer and channel strategies.
Consumer & Market Insights
Capture local consumer insights, including cultural moments, to guide communication and content strategies.
Diagnose brand performance and consumer funnel bottlenecks to provide input for strategic plans.
Lead the diagnostic and planning process in collaboration based on market, competitor, and consumer analysis.
Digital & E-Commerce Acceleration
Recommend and execute plans to increase conversion on e-commerce platforms.
Promote the adoption of digital tools to enhance consumer engagement.
Drive initiatives for customer acquisition, lead generation, and loyalty through digital channels.
Campaign Management
Execute marketing campaigns that deliver high-quality leads and increase brand awareness.
Support cross-functional teams with digital and e-commerce initiatives aligned with broader business objectives.
Ensure timely and accurate content deployment across all digital channels.
Performance Tracking & Data-Driven Decision Making
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including sales, market share (by region and category), and campaign results.
Provide strategic recommendations based on data to improve campaign effectiveness and business outcomes.
Project sales and orders monthly for financial forecasting and G&P impact.
Brand Equity & Activation
Ensure the execution of brand-building initiatives that enhance equity across all consumer touchpoints.
Lead the execution of PR events, local agency management, and media mix input (Digital, Influencers, Other Touchpoints).
Own the activation of hero products and key player plans to maximize business impact.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Provide daily leadership to direct reports, fostering high performance and alignment with strategic goals.
Act as an internal consultant to embed a data-driven culture across the marketing organization.
Collaborate closely with cluster leadership and corporate teams to provide feedback, share learnings, and influence future strategies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
7+ years of progressive marketing experience, including 5+ years in campaign execution and team leadership.
Deep understanding of the Ecuadorian market and regional marketing dynamics.
Proven success in digital marketing, brand strategy, and go-to-market planning.
Strong experience in managing cross-functional projects and collaborating with global/regional teams.
Expertise in marketing analytics, consumer insights, and CRM systems.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in Spanish and English.
