The Opportunity
The College Brand Manager (CBM) will lead and execute the strategic direction, vision, and creative standards for college‑specific external communications and marketing efforts while supporting the university's broader goals. The CBM will work directly with deans, associate/assistant deans, chairs, faculty, and support staff in various college units, and will closely collaborate with the marketing, multimedia, information technology, news, and social media teams across the university.
Scope of Work
For each college, Brand Managers will focus on key objectives and responsibilities, including:
Annual reports/magazines: craft compelling content, identify photography, and collaborate with design and production to deliver high‑quality deliverables that reflect Embry‑Riddle brand consistency.
Social media presence: contribute strategic content to college‑level social media accounts.
Newsletters/email marketing: partner with stakeholders to plan, write, and send electronic communications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Communications, Marketing Leadership and Brand Identity
Work directly with college leadership to develop external marketing and communication initiatives aligned with the strategic vision and distinctive brand.
Develop a robust, data‑driven understanding of target audiences and influencers.
Create marketing and communications programs to address short‑ and long‑term opportunities within specified timelines and resources.
Utilize email and social media channels to design and execute strategies that increase brand awareness.
Collaborate with the Creative Strategy & Brand Management team to design themes and tones for publications, annual reports, events, and other college materials.
Multi-Platform Writing and Coordination
Write original material for articles, reports, newsletters, etc.
Write or edit high‑profile content for style, tone, and structure.
Consult with deans, program coordinators, faculty, and staff regarding content.
Collaborate with News, Development, Multimedia, Social Media, and Web teams to distribute newsworthy information.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
Five years of progressively responsible experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience in multiple specialty areas (e.g., aviation/aerospace) and ability to collaborate with writers, editors, graphic designers, web designers/developers, photographers, and video production professionals.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including editing and writing across print, web, video, and social media platforms.
Strong understanding of social media trends and their impact on messaging.
Strong project management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
High-level understanding of communications strategy and branding, especially in higher education.
Excellent time‑management and prioritization skills.
Familiarity with industry-standard publishing tools such as Adobe InDesign, Canva, Photoshop, Sitecore, Microsoft Office suite, and Hootsuite.
