About this Role Acumen is seeking a strategic Communications Manager to shape and amplify the messaging for our impactful Energy portfolio. The role involves delivering high-quality content from concept through execution. We mission to translate complex ideas into compelling narratives, briefing leadership for key moments and collaborating across teams. The Communications Manager will lead planning, coordination, and writing of campaign initiatives in the energy access sector. You will manage the process to ensure the work meets high standards, and assist in sourcing and guiding external vendors. This role will report to the Brand Communications Manager, requiring collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities Manage all external communications for Acumen’s Energy portfolio.
Develop and execute internal and external communication strategies across various channels.
Brief and prepare leadership with talking points for events, meetings, and other opportunities.
Identify communication opportunities and develop messaging strategies.
Work closely with various teams to align and integrate communication campaigns.
Craft messaging across multiple channels including events and social media.
Engage in proactive media engagement and manage PR strategies.
Maintain relationships with freelancers, consultants, and vendors.
Oversee project-based documentation such as contracts and Scopes of Work.
Requirements Minimum of 7 years professional experience in communications.
Experience in global issues related to renewable energy or a social impact organization is preferred.
Familiarity with impact investing, fundraising, and financial structures.
Experience with strategy and messaging across communication channels.
Strong media relations skills and event execution experience.
Ability to translate complex ideas into compelling stories.
Self-starter with experience managing projects across multiple levels.
