Duties
Establishing and maintaining contacts with national, regional, and local media representatives.
Creating dialogue‑worthy content that solicits feedback and opinion from target audiences.
Collaborating with colleagues in the Office of Communication to develop strategic communication plans concerning OSHA rules, enforcement, and compliance.
Developing and implementing communications plans/strategies to increase Agency engagement.
Conditions of Employment
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be at least 16 years old.
Candidate must obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
Probationary period applies if the security requirement has not been met.
Qualifications
Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS‑12). Qualifying specialized experience for GS‑13 includes:
Preparing and/or directing the preparation of informational products for use in public information activities.
Developing and/or implementing communication plans/strategies to increase Agency engagement.
Recommending program policies to increase effectiveness.
Education and Credentials
Any applicant falsely claiming an academic degree from an accredited school will be subject to disqualification and other actions. If education was completed at a foreign institution, it must be shown comparable to U.S. accredited educational institutions and meet applicable coursework requirements.
Background Investigation
All applicants must undergo a background investigation for access to DOL facilities, systems, information, and/or classified materials before starting duty.
