TECHNICAL MEDIA PRODUCER (PRIMARY) - KPLC

Job Summary
KPLC-TV, a station in Lake Charles, Louisiana, is seeking a full‑time Technical Media Producer. The role involves directing live and pre‑recorded productions, processing content for the station’s primary and sub‑channels, and managing FCC logs and other technical duties.

Responsibilities

Work with news producers and newsroom staff to create, code, and direct dynamic, fast‑paced newscasts and programming.

Coordinate live acquisition of reporters and news video using Live U, Live Link, and satellite feeds.

Operate Ross Overdrive automation, Ross production video switcher, master control video switcher, Crispin master control automation, VizRT graphics, and related equipment.

Perform robotic camera operation, prompter operation, audio operation, and program/commercial/promo ingesting/segmenting;
satellite operation.

Maintain FCC logs and broadcast regulations, work with ENPS and newsroom computer system.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Creative, detail‑oriented, strong problem‑solving, multi‑tasking, and communication skills.

Positive and professional attitude in a fast‑paced, dynamic, high‑stress environment with deadline pressure.

Team player who can also work independently.

Flexible to work mornings, nights, weekends, and shifting schedules; able to sit and stand for extended periods.

Computer literacy is required; prior television experience is preferred but not required.
