NEWS PRODUCER (PRIMARY) - KPLC

Job Summary

KPLC 7 News seeks a producer ready to work with an award-winning news team. The producer will work closely with news managers, fellow producers, reporters, photographers, and anchors to create high-quality, high-energy, innovative, and authentic reports for broadcast and digital platforms.
Responsibilities

Produce local newscasts, manage on-air products, and generate content for all station platforms.
Contribute story and segment ideas, and help live crews execute reports.
Respond quickly and aggressively to breaking news, including writing web copy, editing video for news and social media, and shooting in the field.
Apply strong news judgment, creative presentation ideas, and excellent writing skills.
Qualifications

A degree in Journalism or a related field; prior journalism work or internship experience is a plus.
Solid news judgment, strong communication skills, and an ability to edit video and write clearly and concisely.
Ability to meet deadlines, multitask in a fast-paced environment, navigate breaking news, and be flexible with scheduling and shifts.
