Responsibilities
Design and implement appropriate instruction of assigned content area(s)/course(s) in accordance with state standards, district curriculum, and students’ needs.
Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in an atmosphere of respect and rapport.
Deliver relevant and rigorous lessons that maximize student engagement and achievement.
Utilize a variety of teaching practices and methodologies that reflect diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds to meet individual student needs.
Observe and evaluate student performance and mastery of standards, monitor assessment data, and maintain student grades and attendance.
Manage student behavior in the classroom using effective classroom management strategies and appropriate disciplinary procedures.
Communicate with parents and school/district personnel regarding student progress and encourage parental involvement.
Take all responsible precautions to provide for the health and safety of students and to protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
Appropriately maintain and secure confidential records, inquiries, and data.
Maintain appropriate certifications and professional development hours as required.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
