InterContinental New York Barclay – Marketing Manager
This position is responsible for developing and executing the hotel’s marketing strategy, integrating sales and marketing plans, and overseeing all marketing initiatives, digital presence, PR and social media activity to support revenue and brand objectives. The role leads a team of marketing professionals and collaborates closely with Revenue Management, Sales, Events, and other hotel departments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead marketing strategy, integrating sales and marketing plans to meet budget targets and align with strategic business priorities.
Oversee execution of all marketing initiatives, projects, and collateral production to achieve sales and marketing objectives.
Serve as brand guardian, ensuring all marketing reflects brand voice and directs continent and brand promotions.
Analyze marketing reports, use insights to guide strategic pivots, optimize sales results, and measure campaign ROI.
Manage the development of core marketing assets (photoshoots, content) for accuracy and availability across all sites and channels.
Partner with Revenue Management to drive promotional strategy, optimize channel performance, and support group, events, and transitory lead generation.
Oversee OTA, Wholesale, and IHG Boost strategy and collaborate with IHG Digital Team on SEO, digital presence and continuous improvement.
Set and manage Public Relations and Social Media strategy, collaborate with the Field Marketing Team, and report campaign performance to stakeholders.
Coach and mentor marketing staff, support professional development, conduct check‑ins, and foster career growth.
Provide sales team with tools, promotions, presentations, and resources for tradeshows, sales calls, and overall sales efforts.
Build and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders including General Manager, Sales and Revenue leaders, regional marketing teams, and media representatives.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or a related field and a minimum of three years of progressive hotel or hospitality marketing experience, including digital marketing, PR, and social media management.
Prior luxury or full‑service hotel experience is preferred.
Fluent English (additional languages preferred).
Physical and Work Requirements
Frequently standing or moving within and outside the facility.
Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Reading and writing extensively for marketing copy, campaign briefs, management reports, and strategic planning documents.
Proficiency in digital marketing platforms, content management systems, analytics tools, and OTA platforms; familiarity with IHG systems preferred.
Strong analytical skills, budgeting, ROI analysis, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under competing deadlines while maintaining high quality outputs.
Travel required to attend workshops, trade shows, PR events, and marketing functions.
May require a valid driver’s license; may need to work nights, weekends and/or holidays.
Salary
The salary range for this position is $38.46 – $42.27 per hour, commensurate with experience.
