DESCRIPTION
The PIT is seeking a part-time Producer to help grow and support our comedy and comedy theater community across improv, sketch, stand-up, and independent live performance.

This role is centered around outreach, relationship building, and developing new programming. The Producer will work closely with comedians, students, emerging creators, and independent producers to help bring new shows into the theater and support artists as they build and grow their work.

The ideal candidate is highly social, organized, proactive, and passionate about comedy and live entertainment. This is a people-focused role for someone excited to be part of New York’s comedy community and help foster new voices and productions.

Responsibilities include:

Outreach to comedians, performers, writers, and independent producers

Bringing new shows, teams, and recurring programming into the theater

Building relationships with PIT students and helping support the development of their shows

Assisting emerging creators in producing and growing live comedy projects

Coordinating show logistics, scheduling, and venue communication

Supporting festivals, special events, and community programming

Working collaboratively with artistic, technical, front-of-house, and bar staff

Qualifications:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Passion for comedy, improv, sketch, stand-up, and live performance

Comfortable networking and building relationships within artistic communities

Organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience in comedy, theater, live events, producing, or arts administration preferred

Part-time

15–30 hours per week

Flexible scheduling with some evening and weekend availability required

Based in New York City
