Account Executive – Automotive Marketing Team
This role is part of the USA TODAY Network Automotive enterprise‑wide solutions sales team. The Account Executive will drive product penetration, upsell, and retention of major automotive accounts, acquire new business, and increase current client spending while ensuring client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Drive product penetration, upsell, and retention of accounts through a combination of acquiring new business and increasing current client spending.
Develop relationships with senior executives at local dealerships and rooftops, gaining a deep understanding of the account base and related industries.
Conduct face‑to‑face sales calls and retention meetings, delivering valuable insights and sharing marketing and campaign results, implications, and recommendations with clients.
Create solutions with Customer Success Management partners to deliver custom strategies that provide measurable ROI and secure long‑term commitments.
Utilize Salesforce.com to manage pipeline, monitor revenue responsibilities, and produce accurate forecasts.
Synthesize insights to develop account plans, collaboratively executing strategies to gain market share within the Majors segment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field; a combination of education and experience also acceptable.
3 to 5+ years of sales experience with a record of successful sales, innovation, and goal achievement.
Strong understanding of digital media platforms and ability to grow and maintain market share.
Proficiency in face‑to‑face sales, including upselling, appointment setting, and cold calling.
Ability to develop accurate forecasts, manage pipelines, and articulate product value propositions to customers.
Experience with Salesforce or another CRM platform, and ability to work in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Team player who drives initiatives for positive, constructive change.
