Job Description

Valley Mills Independent School District Valley Mills ISD is seeking a passionate, energetic, and student-centered Band Director to lead the Valley Mills High School Band program. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the most distinguished and respected 2A band programs in Texas. The Valley Mills Bands have a long tradition of excellence and pride. The program has earned consistent success at the regional and state levels, including multiple appearances at the UIL State Marching Contest over the past several years and a UIL State Marching Championship in 2018. Our students, families, and community strongly support the band program and take great pride in its accomplishments and traditions. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is committed to continuing the strong legacy of the Valley Mills Bands while leading the program to an even higher level of success. The ideal candidate will inspire students through excellence in instruction, leadership, organization, and positive relationships.
Primary Responsibilities:
Direct all aspects of the high school band program
Teach and develop student musicianship and performance skills
Plan and coordinate marching band, concert band, pep band, and UIL activities
Foster a culture of excellence, discipline, teamwork, and pride
Collaborate with district staff, administration, parents, and community members
Assist in developing and maintaining a strong vertical alignment with the junior high band program
Manage budgets, inventory, fundraising, and program logistics
Qualifications:
Valid Texas teaching certification
Knowledge of UIL music guidelines and procedures
Strong instructional and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members
Experience in successful marching and concert band programs preferred
