Job Summary
As a Lead Field Service Representative, you will be providing operations, maintenance & repair expertise on water treatment systems at a variety of customer sites. This critical role involves working on a variety of technologies including media filtration, softening, reverse osmosis (RO), ion exchange (IX), de‑oxygenation, electro deionization, ultrafiltration (UF), wastewater, etc. To be successful in this profession, you’ll need to have strong mechanical, electrical, and chemical skills as well as problem‑solving abilities.

This is a traveling role that will assist and cover our clients throughout the Great Lakes region, including Michigan, Northern Indiana, Northern Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa. Candidates must live within that territory to be considered.

What you will do

Operate, monitor, and optimize equipment performance

Ensure that EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) is at the core of every activity and process

Conduct maintenance and calibration activities

Perform analytical testing such as turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO₂, O₂, SDI, TOC, and various other site‑specific testing requirements; monitor and maintain chemical injection systems

Maintain inventory of spare parts and an adequate supply of chemicals and replacement parts

Carry out mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as valves, air compressors, ejectors, process pumps, blowers, and instrumentation

Create and maintain site paperwork, and provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed

Consult with customer management and operation teams

Ensure contract compliance of volume and quality specifications

Perform other duties as required

PLC programming

Education & Experience
Required

High School Diploma / GED

Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely with project teams

Valid driver’s license

Preferred (if applicable)

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (STEM)

5+ years of experience in a field service, plant production, or technical support role

Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities

Working Conditions

Ability and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity

Ability and willingness to work confined space entry

Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments, including but not limited to industrial settings

Ability and willingness to be on call for emergency response

Travel 80 – 90%

This position is an hourly position that is overtime eligible

Additional Information

Compensation – The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is a guide; offers may be lower or higher than the stated range: $33–$40 USD (No bonus)
