POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Coordinator is responsible for the providing oversight, coordination and organization of activities appropriate for participants physical, emotional, intellectual and social growth. The Program Coordinator will assist in providing direct support to the Program Director and Assistant Program Director is responsible in assisting in providing quality programming for the needs of the participants that UAU serves within the community. The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing oversight assistance with staff. EOEPRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):Provide supervision to both staff and participants to ensure safety and ratio protocols are meet.Maintain participant files and records and assist with data entry, as directed and required per DYCDMaintain accurate attendance records on a daily basis as directed and required per DYCDAssist with participant arrival and dismissal, as neededCommunication with participants and families as requiredModel, enforce, teach and develop age appropriate social, physical and emotional behaviorsLead and/or assist in development and implementation of outreach and deliverable programs to engage potential participants and families within the community.Create and facilitate a safe, fun and visually appealing productive learning environment for youthModel, enforce, teach and develop age appropriate social, physical and emotional behaviorsEmploy positive behavior management strategies for disruptive and negative behaviorsDemonstrate positive leadership and act as a positive role model to participantsParticipate in ongoing professional developmentPerform set up and clean up duties every day in alignment with Department of Health regulations and UAU policiesAbide by all safety protocols as outlined by the Department of Health/ OCFS, DYCD and UAUAssume the responsibilities of the Program Director and or Assistant Program Director in their absencePerforms other related duties as necessary or assignedJOB QUALIFICATIONS:Associates Degree preferred, High School diploma or GED (Highschool Equivalency Diploma), requiredMatriculated college student or better from an accredited university or college, preferred1+ year experience working with children and at risk youth, ages 13 to 18 years of age, preferredMust have a valid drivers license.Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based perspectiveMust be culturally competent - ability to understand, be sensitive to the needs of, communicate with and effectively interact with people across cultures, at risk youth and a variety of age rangesMust pass reference checks and background as designated by DOH, DYCD and UAUStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong problem solving and mathematical skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated ability to conduct and complete work independentlyWilling to take initiative and be flexible when neededExcels working in a collaborative environment to achieve target objects and outcomesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
