Headquartered in Greenville, North Carolina, with a dedicated game studio in Wilmington, Valicy represents a bold new chapter in gaming innovation. Formerly known as Grover Gaming, the rebrand reflects a renewed commitment to exploring what’s possible in land‑based gaming.

As a developer and distributor of engaging electronic gaming experiences, the work is guided by clear mission, vision, and values, with a shared focus on being relational, excellent, and innovative.

There’s a fighter mindset behind how things get done, showing up focused, taking ownership, working as a team, and pushing for better outcomes every day. Collaboration, creativity, and long‑term partnerships are central. It’s an industry that never stands still, and there’s genuine excitement about building what’s next as we enjoy the journey together.

Summary
Valicy is looking for a Game Designer who is responsible for creating, evaluating, and refining game concepts, mechanics, features, and player experiences for land‑based gaming products. This role sits at the intersection of creativity, AI‑assisted exploration, player psychology, product judgment, and practical execution. The ideal candidate can generate many possible directions quickly, identify which ideas are worth pursuing, and turn strong concepts into clear, usable design documentation for the team.

This role requires someone who actively uses AI and emerging tools to accelerate ideation, pressure‑test ideas, improve design quality, and move from rough concept to production‑ready direction with speed and clarity.

Responsibilities

Understand company Mission, Vision, and Values and be an ambassador of MVV.

Develop original game concepts, mechanics, features, themes, bonuses, and player experiences.

Leverage emerging tools throughout the design process to accelerate ideation, generate variations, compare directions, and refine concepts.

Evaluate design ideas based on player engagement, feasibility, complexity, production impact, regulatory fit, and business value.

Translate rough ideas into clear design intent, player flows, feature descriptions, and implementation‑ready documentation.

Collaborate with engineering, art, QA and leadership to move concepts from prototype toward production quality.

Iterate quickly based on feedback, testing, performance data, team review, and changing priorities.

Stay current with emerging AI tools, game design trends, casino gaming products, and new workflow possibilities to consistently evolve the role.

Identify design and workflow friction, then proactively suggest better approaches.

Communicate design intent, player psychology, and product goals clearly during math, prize‑structure, and feature discussions.

Use AI responsibly and thoughtfully, with awareness of quality, originality, data sensitivity, brand risk, and production standards.

Requirements

Strong game design fundamentals.

Deep understanding of gameplay systems, feature design, player motivation, pacing, reward structures, and player experience.

Sharp creative judgment with the ability to quickly identify which ideas are worth pursuing, refining, or discarding.

Demonstrated ability to use AI tools as a meaningful part of the creative and design process.

Strong awareness of emerging AI capabilities and a proactive approach to learning and applying new tools.

Ability to make clear design decisions with incomplete information.

Strong analytical and creative thinking skills, especially when comparing multiple possible design directions.

Clear communication and documentation skills.

Ability to balance creativity, feasibility, complexity, production impact, player value, and business goals.

Comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment with evolving requirements and undefined processes.

Low ego, high ownership, strong follow‑through, and a team‑first mindset.

Preferred Requirements

Experience with casino gaming, slot machine development, land‑based gaming, or regulated gaming products.

Familiarity with math‑adjacent game design, prize structures, volatility, player psychology, or reward pacing.

Experience creating custom tools to assist and supercharge your workflow.

Experience working with engineers, artists, QA, or production teams through a full development cycle.
