Job Description
The Academic & Government division at Taylor & Francis Group is hiring a high performing Account Manager to manage the Northeast territory within the United States. The role is remote and requires strong verbal communication, ethical standards, and the ability to collaborate across departments. Experience in open access, journals, eBook understanding, and academic library market sales is desirable.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and own a 1‑to‑3 year sales strategy for eBooks, Journals, and Open Access within the territory.
Achieve and exceed annual sales targets, contributing to overall revenue and profit objectives.
Plan schedules and conduct regular sales visits to customers to reach financial targets across the product portfolio.
Develop strong professional and industry stakeholder networks with key accounts.
Cultivate strong, holistic relationships with the customer base to ensure sustainable, profitable, and customer‑satisfied trading.
Collect and disseminate market, competitor, and customer feedback.
Establish a strategic approach to short, medium, and long‑term business in the territory.
Uphold company trading and terms policy to protect profitability.
Liaise with stakeholder departments (product specialists, sales support, editorial, marketing) to enhance coverage.
Conduct key analyses of products, customers, markets, and competitors; develop and maintain knowledge of market trends and opportunities.
Regularly update the CRM with relevant customer and opportunity information.
Require travel of 30%‑50% of the role.
Qualifications
2–5 years of demonstrated successful account management.
Professional manner with the ability to approach others tactfully under pressure.
Strong analytical and synthesis skills with experience in collecting and researching data.
Problem‑solving ability, including developing alternative solutions.
Excellent oral communication and listening skills.
Team player with capacity to balance team and individual responsibilities.
Leadership qualities to inspire and motivate others.
Business acumen with understanding of profit implications and market competition.
Additional Information

Home‑based role requiring remote work setup.
Domestic and international travel to T&F offices and areas of opportunity may be required.

Base salary $75,000–$85,000 plus annual sales bonus (25% if OTE is met, up to 100%).
