Project Assistant
Berklee's Professional Music major provides students with the opportunity to blaze their own path, and synthesize a variety of skills, ranging from performing and songwriting to production and business. Under the supervision of the Department Coordinator, the Project Assistant will provide general office and administrative support to the Professional Music Department, with a primary focus on digital media and content creation. The Project Assistant will play a key role in building existing social media accounts by capturing experiences of the students in the major, as well as communicating department events throughout the semester. This position is for current students enrolled in the Professional Music major who are interested in growing and developing their skills in audio-visual production and digital marketing. Students in the Professional Music major are studying across all academic areas of the college. Applicants are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with the Berklee community, campus departments, and student resources as best as they can.
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and reception support in the Professional Music office not limited to: tracking supplies and 'swag' inventory, updating and maintaining course lists for the Pro Music Tracks, receiving and organizing deliveries, and providing general information about the Professional Music major, and the declaration process to walk-in students.
Assist Department Chairs and Department Coordinator in the promotion of department-related events and programming.
Tabling at various college events (Majors/Minors Fair, Information Sessions, etc.)
Create visual content for social media platforms and email campaigns.
Assist with the design and distribution of departmental promotional materials.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Knowledge and Skills Required :
Candidate must be a Professional Music major.
Knowledge of the Berklee community and campus departments and resources
Prior experience using social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok).
Working knowledge of the Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Forms) and Mailchimp.
Prior Experience with graphic design (Canva, Adobe), and Video Editing software.
Advanced written/verbal communication skills, and organizational skills
Prior experience with photography/videography and audio recording is preferred.
Must be able to keep matters confidential and handle occasional high pressure situations.
Reliability is a must.
Work Schedule: approximately 8-15 hours per week, 9 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Night and weekend hours are possible for events, and programs.
Hourly Rate: $16.97
