Vergennes Union High School is seeking a creative, organized, and enthusiastic stage director for our fall high school musical production. This is a contracted position for the duration of the production season. The ideal candidate will work closely with the production team, including the Music Director, Choreographer, and Technical Crew to bring a dynamic and educational theatrical experience to life for our students and community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of staging and direction for the musical production.

Conduct auditions and cast the show in collaboration with the production team.

Develop and communicate a clear artistic vision for the show.

Run rehearsals and scene work while maintaining a positive and inclusive environment.

Attend production meetings and coordinate with school staff volunteers.

Job Requirements

Experience directing musical theatre productions at the high school or community level.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with students and staff.

Knowledge of theater production elements, including staging and character development.

Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
